Job Description

If you've got a keen eye for design and always have your fingers on the pulse of industry trends, then we want to hear from you!
Our firm is interested in hiring an Interior Designer who will be part of a collaborative team of Engineers, Architects and Service Sub-contractors. The successful candidate will provide design team leadership in all project phases from initial development to completion and assist in the design and documentation of interior spaces.



Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Undertake design project from concept to completion
  2. Carry out site surveys, define project requirements and scheduling during the ‘Brief’
  3. Interpret and translate client needs into rough plans
  4. Consider materials and costs according to project budget
  5. Conduct feasibility studies for projects
  6. Produce ‘Sample’ or ‘Mood’ boards and 3D renders
  7. Prepare and participate in client presentation
  8. Prepare detailed working drawings, designs and plans
  9. Conduct on-site supervision and provide recommendations to help streamline ongoing projects
  10. Keep up-to date with new developments in the design industry
  11. Identify new business and sell services to potential clients


Skills Required

  1. Proven working experience in designing Interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions)
  2. Proficient in ArchiCAD / AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3DMax/Revit, Illustrator, Photoshop or other design programs
  3. Excellent portfolio of previous works
  4. Creative talent, imagination and eye for detail
  5. Communication and presentation skills
  6. Project management skills
  7. Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture


Responsibilities

Typical hours include regular extra hours but not shifts depending on scope of project and timelines. Evenings and Saturday work should be expected. Since a designer’s role is often integral to a larger construction and development process, flexibility with working hours is an accepted part of the job.
